Herbal medicine is the practice of using plants for wellness. It is an ancient practice that has been used worldwide for centuries. In the United States, Western Herbalism began in Appalachia. Today, Herbalism is a combination of tradition and science as the chemical composition of the medicinal herbs is much better understood and used in the selection of plants to be used.
A Clinical Herbalist is someone who not only understands how to use the medicinal properties of plants, but also has had formal training in the human body's systems and how they function. All systems work together, so therefore all systems must be working in harmony for true wellness.
Yes. An Herbalist will create and blend plant formulas to make products to be used for general purposes. For example, a peppermint tea for indigestion. This formula may not work for everyone because it was not created for everyone's body composition.
A Clinical Herbalist meets with a client to understand their imbalances and their body compostion. Specific herbs are selected to compliment their body makeup. For example, someone who struggles with elevated blood pressure (internal heat) will have the most success using formulas for any condition that are created using plants considered to be cooling.
Because everything I make is custom-blended, my products are only available to current clients.
As a client of TCWA, you will receive education and recommendations for both chronic and acute conditions. While sometimes it is necessary to take advantage of OTC and prescription medications, these always result in a step backwards for your overall wellness. Having Herbal products on hand to use at the first sign of illness is best to avoid setbacks in your wellness journey.
